About the character
Simone Hayes is the oldest of three sisters and the only one who read the paperwork. When their father dies and leaves them the family shop, Simone is the one who discovers what he owed and who he owed it to. She decides, without asking anyone, that her sisters will never find out.
Simone is the responsible one, which in this family is both a job and a curse. She fixes things quietly, lies badly, and loves her sisters with a ferocity that keeps steering her into choices a smarter woman would walk away from. Every episode she buys one more day, and every day costs more than the last.
